Retextured perfection

L-ascorbic acid Vitamin C naturally exists in our skin. However, age and exposure to environmental pollution mean the levels reduce, contributing to visible signs of ageing. Vitamin C neutralises these free radicals promoting a revitalised and younger-looking skin.

Pure ingredients

Vitamin C is by nature highly unstable and degenerates relatively quickly. Once an authentic mixture of vitamin C has been opened and oxygenated, it only lasts for 10-14 days. This is why the majority of commercially produced Vitamin C products contain stabilisers and parabens. Pure Skin Serum has overcome this challenge by producing small fresh batches, bottled in 10 ml sealed ampoules and sold together in a set of 4. This means that while you are using one ampule, the 3 sealed bottles can be stored in the fridge, ready and waiting for you.

  • De-ionised water
  • L-Ascorbic acid

first pack and then move on to the 20% thereafter.

Storage & Usage

    • Store the 3 ampoules (sealed with lids) in the fridge.
    • Once your first ampoule is finished, remove the dropper lid and use it on a fresh ampoule from the fridge.
    • Once an ampoule is opened, use it within 10 -14 days.

Note: We do not believe in washing your face with a cleanser in the morning as it simply strips off all that goodness your skin has produced overnight as a result of your evening routine. Rather rinse/splash your face with water in the morning.

Morning & Evening Routine

Morning Routine:

  • Splash/wash face with water.
  • Apply a full dropper or more of  Vitamin C to the face and neck and wait until it is fully absorbed (or longer if you have time).
  • Spray Rosewater on to the skin and then apply 1 to 2 drops of Hyaluronic Acid Serum and wait for it to dry.
  • Seal with your Oil Repair Serum or your favourite day cream.
  • Apply sunblock.

Evening Routine:

  • Wash face.
  • Spray Rosewater (to balance the pH after washing).
  • Apply a full dropper or more of Vitamin C to face and neck and wait until it is fully absorbed (or longer if you have time).
  • Spray Rosewater onto skin and then apply 1 to 2 drops of Hyaluronic Acid Serum and wait for it to dry.
  • Apply your Oil Repair Serum (or night cream/moisturiser first) and then your Oil Repair Serum.
  • Remember to apply the Oil Repair Serum around the eye area too.

Note: Wait at least 20 minutes after applying your Vitamin C Serum if you are applying a moisturiser/serum with active ingredients, like retinol or alpha hydroxy acid.

The Power of Vitamin C

This water-soluble antioxidant is a natural component of healthy skin. When we’re young, vitamin C levels in our skin’s outermost two layers (epidermis and dermis) are abundant, but as we age, these levels naturally deplete which is why it’s so important to add it to your skincare routine. Unprotected sun exposure (UV damage) and pollution can accelerate this decline, leading to skin looking and feeling dull, uneven, and less firm than it once was. Protecting against UV damage with an antioxidant and daily SPF protection is important.

Why is Vitamin C so powerful?

Its bio availability (which means it is easily absorbed by the skin) and its permeability, which means it can penetrate directly into the dermis to stimulate collagen synthesis.

Not all vitamin C products are created equal.

L-Ascorbic Acid is the first choice when it comes to choosing Vitamin C. It is the most researched type of  Vitamin C and is considered the gold standard because it is the purest form of the ingredient possible.

Potent antioxidant.

Vitamin C is one of the most potent topical antioxidants available. It neutralises free radical damage and protects the skin against UV light and other environmental aggressors, as well as blocking abnormal production of pigmentation to even skin tone and fade dark spots.

Natural collagen booster.

While it is best known for brightening, Vitamin C can also be instrumental in skin firming, as it is a natural collagen booster. Vitamin C is the essential cofactor for the two enzymes required for collagen synthesis: Prolyl hydroxylase (to stabilise the collagen molecule) and Lysyl hydroxylase (to give structural strength cross-linking), promoting the proper folding of the stable collagen triple-helix conformation.

When Vitamin C is applied, the skin is triggered to heal itself by accelerating the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen and elastin are both naturally occurring protein fibres that help keep skin plump and firm. By helping to promote collagen production, Vitamin C serum can help prevent premature ageing of the skin.

Besides its ability to enhance collagen production, L-Ascorbic Acid has also been shown to down-regulate the enzymes responsible for collagen degradation and to preserve existing collagen.

Promotes skin regeneration and repair.

L-ascorbic acid can neutralise free radicals, which means because of its antioxidant properties, it aids in your skin’s natural regeneration process, helping your body repair damaged skin cells.

Prevents hyper pigmentation.

Vitamin C inhibits your skin’s melanin production, which is what causes skin discolouration like spots and hyper pigmentation. With continued use, Vitamin C serum can fade hyper pigmentation and can also prevent dark spots from forming, creating an even skin tone.

Anti-inflammatory.

Because free radicals are particles that cause inflammation, L-ascorbic acid neutralises them, therefore, having anti-inflammatory benefits too.
